This Art Nouveau brooch depicts a voluptuous woman emerging from a leafy bower. Her face is beautiful, with seductive heavy-lidded eyes, high cheekbones, and full lower lip. Her nose and upper lip have suffered a little wear over the years, but believe me when I tell you, her cleavage makes up for the flaw. She wears a shawl draped over her curling locks. Repouss?? jewelry-making techniques give this piece its lovely three-dimensional quality. The back is marked "Copyrighted 1902 by Wm Link Sterling." This charming brooch is great; many Art Nouveau designs have become familiar over a century of reproduction, but this one feels fresh and (frankly) pretty sexy.
Details: The brooch measures 1.45" by 1.73. In Very Good Antique Condition. Some wear should be expected on all vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of their charm.
